Steve
Jobs
Steve Jobs is the popular name
for Steve Paul Jobs (1955 – 2011), a once co-founder, chairman and CEO of Apple
Inc. He is to be remembered in history for his contribution in the development
of personal computer. He revolutionized it by developing iMac, iTunes, iPod,
iPhone and iPad. He made these devices greatly user-friendly. He did this after
his comeback to Apple, after he had left it losing a power battle with its
board of directors. He supervised the company’s Apple Store, iTunes Store and
the App Store. He contributed to turning Apple into a valuable public traded
company. This is considered as a great turnaround in business history. All this
was possible because of his visionary leadership qualities. But his mind for
business was not unethical. He tried to change people’s view about computer and
its use. He added Wi-Fi to laptops so that people might get the best from it.
His dream of consumers ‘to be anywhere and anytime’ was more of an idealistic
view than a business policy. He will live in the hearts of computer-users for
long.
